Back on Track: TB 3 - EDM 1
In the second of back to back games, the Lightning did what they had to do, they got the win. The Lightning were led by Vinny Lecavalier's 2 goals, his league leading 44th and 45th, and stellar goal tending by Marc Denis. Vinny Prospal got the Bolts on the board at 10:49 in the second with a power play goal off a feed from Brad Richards. Lecavalier followed that even strength at 13:30 in the second, golfing in a pass from Vinny Prospal. Lecavalier's second goal was an empty netter from St. Louis. The win moves the Lighting back into a tie with idle Atlanta for the #1 position in the Southeast. Next up for the Lightning is a re-match of their '04 cup final opponent Calgary on Saturday.
Notes: Lightning defenseman Paul Ranger left the game with a knee injury after a collision in front of the Lighting net, and did not return. Kuba, Wanvig, Stewart and Richrdson were the Lightning scratches.
