Door is Open for Lightning

Last night's loss by Atlanta at the hands of the Flyers has opened the door for the Lightning to retake the Southeast lead. A Lightning win tonight against Buffalo, coupled with an Atlanta loss to the Rangers, would give the Bolts sole possession of 1st in the division with a game in hand. The Lightning will play 8 of it's final 11 games at home, begining with tonight's matchup with Buffalo. "This is the start of it," captain Tim Taylor said. "This is when teams really start to gear up. We have to make a statement now. This is our season."
"No matter what we've done in the past, how much we've climbed back into first place, made up 16 points, it doesn't matter. It's about now, and that's very exciting. Other than the playoffs, this is the next best time of the year to play hockey."
The Bolts come into tonight's matchup having just completed a 6 game road trip where they went 3-3. The Sabres played Florida last night in Sunrise, beating the Panthers 5-3. Buffalo has cooled off as of late, going just 5-4-1 in their last 10 games. The Lightning have the same record in their last 10. Tonight's game will face off at 8:00 EST.
