Ramo Called Up

After the lastest showing by the Lightning's goalie tandem, management has seen fit to call up Karri Ramo from Springfield. However, they claim that Sunday's game is not the reason for the call up, Tortorella said he has wanted to call up Ramo for weeks. Feaster said that with Springfield out of the playoffs it was a good time to get Ramo some "NHL exposure". Ramo isn't expected to start tonight against the Islanders, but may dress and be in the line up as a back up. "I'm ready to play if I have to," he said. "I'm not going to think about it. If I have a chance to play, I just play." "The reports we have on Ramo since the turn of the year, are that he is ready to play at this level now," Feaster said. To the casual onlooker it seems that Feaster and Tortorella are trying to light a fire under the rears of Homer and Denis. What better way to do that than to make you look over your shoulder and realize you are one bad game away from being sent down, or in this case sent home.

Ramo facts: picked 191 in 94 draft. Had 3.13/.909 and was 15-24-1 in Springfield this year. Was Springfield's only All-Star representative this season.
