Ugly: TB 2 - OTT 7

Dany Heatley registered two goals and an assist as Ottawa pounded Tampa Bay, 7-2.

Dan Boyle had two goals for the Lightning, and Vincent Lecavalier added two assists to become the first Tampa Bay player to reach 100 points in a season. The Lightning hold a slim one-point lead over the Rangers for the sixth seed in the East. Carolina and Montreal, locked in a virtual tie for the eighth spot, are two points behind Tampa Bay.

Lightning goaltender Marc Denis yielded five goals on 23 shots before getting pulled early in the third period. Karri Ramo came in and surrendered three more goals.

"In the second period we had some turnovers that led to penalties and led to goals, and then you're going into the third 4-2 instead of 2-2 and that was the game," Tampa Bay's Brad Richards said. "That changed the whole momentum."

"This game is done," Lightning coach John Tortorella said. "We're already by it. There's no sense in looking back."

"A loss is a loss," Tampa Bay center Brad Richards said.
