The team placed Lukowich on injured reserve, retroactive to February 9.
Lukowich will travel to Munich, Germany, where the surgery will be performed by Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck. He is expected to miss the next three to four weeks.
Muschaweck is world-renowned for operating on Premier League soccer players and her minimal repair technique is expected to cut the recovery time in half.
The 31-year-old Lukowich has appeared in 54 games this season and has a goal with six assists. Also, he leads the team with 147 hits and 101 blocked shots.
