I'm so bad about looking at salary caps and players salaries, tho, so I have no idea where they are with any of that. I should probably pay more attention.Cassiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02617914597426524412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4343012534610867297.post-33209192413751079872009-03-05T00:29:00.000-05:002009-03-05T00:29:00.000-05:00Fantastic post. I can't believe we essentially sold Toronto a draft pick.

Good PKD quote btw.The Hockey Bayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14731134302659813542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4343012534610867297.post-83488913970250729442009-03-04T21:50:00.000-05:002009-03-04T21:50:00.000-05:00I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you on upgradi...I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you on upgrading the defense in the offseason. The one thing they've been consistent about from the beginning has been the defense. They like them to be really young and really cheap. Being good or having any NHL experience is completely optional.Cassiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02617914597426524412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4343012534610867297.post-68865187770307085332009-03-04T19:45:00.000-05:002009-03-04T19:45:00.000-05:00Let's say they do have a plan. But also getting what they could for the "decent" players they didn't have plans on keeping around next season to clear cap space to maybe make a play for some better defense in the offseason. Unfortunately Robert's crappy contract structure did him in. Too bad, he should have gone out on a better note.

Not a big fan of the deals today. Thought Recchi could have brought more.

Lawton thought it was great:
"The acquisitions of Matt Lashoff and Martins Karsums today help the Tampa Bay Lightning as we look to build a younger, more aggressive team," Tampa Bay general manager Brian Lawton said.

"We believe both players are NHL-ready; Matt is an offensive defenseman who skates very well and Martins is a smart, reliable, hard worker who gives us some depth at the forward position."

Whatever dude. Hope he is the next to go.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
